The Church of EnglandThe Deanery is part of the Church of England, the officially established church in England and mother Church of the Anglican Communion. The Church of England is both catholic and reformed. It is episcopally led (that is, by bishops) and synodically governed (that is, by the people of the Church). Our Church is marked by its breadth and range of belief and practice whilst still being firmly grounded in the Holy Scriptures, the teachings of the ancient Fathers and Councils of the Church, together with many of the doctrinal principles of the protestant reformation. The Deanery is part of the Archdeaconry of Charing Cross, within the Two Cities Area of the Diocese of London. This in turn is part of the Province of Canterbury which is under the care of the Archbishop of Canterbury. |
